Frequently Asked Questions

  • How old do I have to be to hire a car with Autoclick?
  • The minimum age for hiring a car with Autoclick is 18. Drivers under 21 can only hire cars of the MBMR, MBAR, MTMR, MTAR, EDMR, CDMR and CVMR categories. Drivers with a license newer than 24 months must contract the newly licensed driver extra. Drivers between 18 and 24, and over 70 years old must contract the young driver extra. Both options are available in the reservation process on our website. *IN FRANCE: The hirer must be over 20 years old and have a valid driving license issued by the competent authority at least 24 months old.

  • What proof of identification (ID) / documentation do I need to bring with me when collecting the vehicle?
  • A valid driving licence and the identity document/passport. Driving licenses printed in non-Latin alphabets (Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic, etc.) must be accompanied by an international driving license. Notarised translations are also accepted.

  • Can I collect or return the vehicle outside of office hours?
  • Yes, you may return or collect the car outside of our office hours. The cost of this service is €30 per action outside of office hours.

  • What happens if I return my hire vehicle late?
  • Autoclick provides all clients with a 59 minute grace period. Nevertheless, in the case of a late vehicle return, the period not agreed in the hire contract will be invoiced in accordance with the cover sheet of the hire contract, plus a surcharge of €40 per day.

  • What happens if my flight is delayed?
  • In the case of your flight being delayed, you must simply notify the office. You can find more information on our offices, as well as contact telephone numbers, on this page.

  • Is smoking permitted in the vehicle?
  • Autoclick operates with a strict no-smoking policy in all our vehicles. We will charge for the expense for special cleaning if a vehicle returned requires a special treatment to eliminate any trace of tobacco.

  • Who is responsible for parking/traffic offence fines?
  • The hirer of the vehicle is solely responsible for fines due to traffic offences and the related administration expenses incurred during the hire period.

  • Can anyone other than me drive the vehicle?
  • Yes, but the additional driver must be included in the hire contract. The second driver must also provide their valid driving license for inspection before becoming a driver identified in the hire contract. With Autoclick you will have an additional driver totally free.

  • Can I return the vehicle to a different office?
  • Yes, you can return the car to another Autoclick office, provided that it is specified in the hire contract. This type of hire involves an additional cost, calculated in the price shown on our website.

  • Can I visit another country with my hire car?
  • With your Autoclick rental car you can travel to Spain, Portugal, Andorra, France, Monaco, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Norway, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Czech Republic, Romania , Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Greece, Poland, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, San Marino, Vatican City. Journeys to Africa are not permitted and the use of ferries is prohibited. Crossing borders with the hire car has an additional one-off cost of €30.

  • Can I reserve a vehicle and pay for it, even if I am not going to be the person who collects and drives it?
  • No, at the time of collection of the vehicle, the credit/debit card used for the payment must be provided. The name that appears on the credit/debit card used must also match the name of the driver.

  • Do I have to return the vehicle with a full fuel tank?
  • Yes, our fuel policy is full/full; you collect the car with a full tank and must return it full. Otherwise, you will be charged for the lack of fuel plus the refuelling service.

Prices and fees for hire car reservations

  • How can I obtain a quote for a hire car?
  • You can obtain a price instantly online.

  • Can a price be guaranteed after a quote is given?
  • No, because our quotes/fees/prices fluctuate throughout the day, as the prices depend on the availability of our fleet along with the demand for these vehicles.

  • How often do the fees change?
  • The fees may fluctuate at any time, but the confirmed reservation fees do not change unless the client alters their reservation.

  • What is payment upon collection?
  • A reservation with payment upon collection does not require payment until the hire vehicle is collected. These reservations do not include the discount for advance reservations.

  • What is a pre-paid reservation?
  • A pre-paid reservation requires the full payment for hire before your arrival at our office. These reservations include a discount on the final price.

Alterations, Cancellations and Extensions

  • I have hired a car with Autoclick, how can I extend the hire contract?
  • The extension of your hire contract can only be made by writing to help@autoclickrentacar.com. The maximum contract extension time will be one day; for extensions of more than one day you will need to visit our office. Extensions are subject to availability.

  • What is the fee for cancelling a reservation?
  • Autoclick allows you to alter or cancel your reservation after confirmation, provided that you do so with at least 2 hours’ notice from the vehicle collection time. To do so, you must contact our support department through our website, in the “Customer Service” section. You will not be able to alter or cancel reservations made through third parties such as Travel Agencies or price comparison websites, etc. For changes to reservations made through these channels, please contact the appropriate party.

  • How can I alter or cancel a reservation?
  • All cancellations and/or alterations must be made in writing to the following email address: help@autoclickrentacar.com. Take into account that all alterations are subject to availability and current prices.

  • How much notice must I give to alter a reservation?
  • Alterations to pre-paid reservations must be made within 48 hours of the start of the hire. Take into account that all alterations are subject to availability and current prices.

Information on insurance, excesses and security deposits

  • What insurance is included with the hire car?
  • Autoclick provides the possibility of selecting between three types of insurance: Basic, Total Relax and Total Relax Plus

  • Does the insurance have excesses?
  • If you do not wish to be responsible in the case of accident or theft, you should contract the Total Relax or Total Relax Plus insurance. This insurance will eliminate the excess in case of damage or theft.

  • Will I have to leave a security deposit when collecting the vehicle?
  • With Basic insurance, the amount that will be charged to your credit card (you can only pay with a debit card in the case of contracting Total Relax or Total Relax Plus insurance) is equal to 100% of the excess. With Total Relax insurance, the amount that will be charged to your credit or debit card is equal to €150, regardless of the vehicle model hired. In the case of selecting Total Relax Plus insurance, only €50 will be charged to your card. In all cases, the same card used to make the payment online, issued in the name of the driver, must be presented upon collection.

  • What is the difference between the excess and the security deposit?
  • The deposit is the amount that must be left as a guarantee when collecting your hire car. This deposit is returned at the end of the contract if you return the car with the tank full and on the correct date at the correct time. The excess is the amount for which you will be responsible in the case of damage or theft, and may range from €900 to €3000 depending on the model of vehicle hired. Take into account that Total Relax and Total Relax Plus insurance eliminate the excess.

Payment methods

  • What type of card can I use to pay for the hire?
  • You can pay for your hire car with a credit or debit card. In the case of selecting basic insurance, you will only be able to pay with a credit card. Cards accepted: VISA/MasterCard

  • Can I pay in cash?
  • No, payment in cash is not permitted.

  • How long after the end of the contract will the deposit be refunded to me?
  • Autoclick processes the security deposit refund transaction when the vehicle is returned. Depending on your bank and the card issuer, this process may take up to 15 business days.

Collection/return points

  • How do I reach your office from the airport?
  • The Autoclick offices are located very close to the airports. Autoclick offers you a Shuttle which will collect you at the airport and bring you to our offices. Likewise, the Autoclick Shuttle will take you to the departure terminal of the airport upon returning the car. Your reservation voucher will indicate the meeting point where our Shuttle will be waiting.
